We’re growing rapidly across Australia and New Zealand, and we’re looking for a Consulting Director who brings both strategic vision and human-centred leadership. Someone who can connect the dots between business needs, technology, and people—and who thrives in collaborative, purpose-driven environments. 

This is a senior role that blends consulting expertise, commercial acumen, and team leadership. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to shape transformation roadmaps, guide delivery, and position Datacom as a thought leader in your area of specialisation. You’ll also play a key role in growing our consulting presence in Australia, building on our mature capability in New Zealand and our strong managed services and SI footprint. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Helping clients define strategic goals and build compelling business cases for change 

• Leading workshops, coaching sessions, and consulting engagements that deliver measurable value 

• Supporting delivery teams to ensure solutions align with outcomes and are backed by the right people and processes 

• Contributing to major sales proposals and bids with clarity and insight 

• Publishing thought leadership that showcases Datacom’s expertise and builds market credibility 
• Managing and mentoring a diverse team of consultants within your practice area 

• Owning revenue targets and delivery KPIs, with a focus on quality, collaboration, and efficiency 

• Helping modernise our consulting offerings through innovation and the use of AI 

What You’ll Bring   

We’re looking for someone with deep consulting experience and a strong grasp of business strategy. You’ll be confident in the room, credible with clients, and collaborative with teams. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage diverse perspectives—what matters most is your ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and impact. 

You’ll need: 

• At least 10 years in consulting or a relevant specialism (Agile, IT Strategy, Technology Advisory, Digital Strategy, customer experience, etc.) 

• Proven ability to lead strategic conversations and translate them into actionable plans 

• Strong financial and commercial awareness 

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills 

• A track record of delivering transformation programmes
