Container Surveyor

ACFS is a leading Empty Container Depot with facilities across Australia. 

We now have an additional full-time permanent opportunity for a Container Surveyor to join our busy team in West Melbourne

This is an extremely physical role!

 What your day could look like:

• Inspect and document container damage in accordance with client criteria and regulatory standard.
• Complete repair estimates detailing the expected labour time, repair method and materials required, ensuring that all estimates are written accurately and clearly.
• Maintain a professional rapport with all industry contacts.
• Deliver repair estimates to the office at regular intervals throughout the day to ensure efficient processing.
• Ensure all other daily, weekly and ad hoc paperwork is kept in an orderly manner and passed over to the Office within the required timeframe.
• Respond to Client queries and requests in the required format and timeframe.
• Provide immediate, honest and accurate incident reporting to the Depot Manager in accordance with Company procedures and participate in the creation of measures to prevent the reoccurrence of such incidents.

What you can bring to us:

• Ideally (but not essential) a minimum of two years’ experience in surveying in the shipping or container industry preferred.
• Organized with effective time management skills
• An eye for detail
• Knowledge of shipping container systems processes and procedures
• General administration and computer skills
• Good level of physical fitness
