What's the role?
Are you that person constantly scrolling, reading, and exploring the latest food, health, and beauty trends? Are you curious about the influences that shape consumer behaviour and their choices at the checkout? Medium Rare is looking for an experienced and culturally tapped-in Content Insights Lead to join us part-time (3 days per week), helping us decode cultural shifts and translating them into strategic content opportunities for Coles.
As our Content Insights Lead, you will be responsible for producing consumer and trend reporting across the food and lifestyle categories. Your insights will shape content strategy, guide editorial direction, and optimise channels, all aimed at enhancing the relevance, engagement and quality of Coles content.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct extensive research into global and local trends across food and lifestyle categories
Report on macro and micro trends shaping consumer behaviour, attitudes, and mindsets
Utilise a range of research tools and data sources to gather, analyse, and interpret insights
Synthesise findings into insight-driven reports that identify opportunities for content creation and brand growth
Analyse content performance and develop post-campaign reports, identifying opportunities to optimise and refine future strategies
Visualise and present data, insights, and trends in a polished and engaging way
Identify opportunities for brand and audience growth through insights, market observations, and emerging trends
Collaborate with content, editorial, and marketing teams to implement insight-led strategies and recommendations
Who are you?
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar insights role, preferably with experience in food, health, beauty, consumer products or publishing industries
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable content strategies
- You’re tapped in to culture - an active user of social media and someone who stays up-to-date with news, cultural commentary, industry reports and thought leadership
- Experience with keyword research tools such as Google Trends
- Experience with Semrush, Roy Morgan Asteroid and social analytics tools is a plus
- Excellent data visualisation skills and storytelling abilities. You have the ability to create polished, visually engaging presentations to communicate your findings
- Strong project management skills with the ability to develop and deliver research projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
