Pine Rivers Private Hospital in Strathpine, is looking to employ a Cook to join our friendly and supportive team. You will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and interest in achieving high standards of consumer satisfaction.
· Previous experience in a Hospital or other Health Care Service environment
· Free on site parking
As a Cook your responsibilities will include:
· Prepare, cook and serve meals
· Food preparation and other Food Service duties
· Ordering of food supplies
· Supervise staff in the kitchen
· Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
Located on the bank of the South Pine River, our 70 bed mental health facility provides comprehensive in-patient admissions and day programs. As a leading Healthcare provider, we specialise in Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Personality Disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We also deliver specialised therapies in EMDR, TMS and ECT. The catering department services all areas of the hospital providing meals for both in-patient & out-patients as well as staff, doctors and special events. The catering team works across two shifts morning and afternoon/evening, seven days a week. Seeking cover for Maternity Leave and team growth, possible view to extension, part time positions may be available in the future for the right candidate.
Selection Criteria:
· Qualifications as a Chef / qualified Cook from a recognised training provider
· Certificate in Safe Food Handling
· Food Safety Supervisors Certificate, or willingness or obtain
· Good communication and time management skills
· Works well independently and within a team
· Willing to support both roles of Cook and Food Service Assistant
· Flexibility essential for shift work and availability to work nights and weekends across 7 days
