The Role

As Cook you will be responsible for developing and preparing nutritionally balanced meals that cater for diverse client needs. 

In line with key positions duties, you will be responsible for ensuring meals are developed, prepared, cooked and served in accordance with food safety guidelines. You will have responsibility for delivery and receipt of instructions, food safety standards and SVdP policies and procedures. 

This is a Fixed-Term - Full Time Position (38 hours per week) role based in Bundaberg.

To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
• Current food safety qualification
• Previous experience as a Cook
• Understanding of hygienic and professional standards of food safety including preparation, storage and delivery
• Knowledge of and ability to work within relevant food safety guidelines, legislative requirements and organisation policies and procedures
• Personal aptitude for working within set guidelines and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status required
• Developed interpersonal, communication and organisation skills including the ability to exercise judgement and contribute to a team environment
• Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
