Cook/Cafe Worker | Alice Springs Telegraph Station

About the Opportunity:

Journey Beyond is currently seeking a reliable, passionate and enthusiastic Cook/Café Worker to join our Alice Springs Telegraph Station Cafe Team. In this role your primary responsibility will be providing high quality service in the preparation and cooking of menu items ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Following recipes, portion control, and food preparation guidelines
• Development of specials and seasonal menu items
• Ensuring food is prepared in a timely manner, especially during peak service hours
• Operating kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment throughout service
• Stock control management – receiving, rotating and storing stock deliveries
• Adherence to HACCP protocols for food safety standards, hygiene practices and café policies
• Working collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
• Provide training or guidance to other team members where required
• Ensure every dish leaving kitchen retains consistency
• Observation of dietary requirements and allergen considerations
• Take pride in the preparation and presentation of dishes that reflect the Telegraph Station brand 

About you:

·         Candidates should have previous experience in a kitchen environment

·         Passionate about fresh food and the preparation of meals in a fast-paced, café atmosphere.

·         The ability to work as part of a team, but also autonomously.

·         Reliable, punctual and flexible across a 5-day roster comprising mornings, weekends and public holidays as required.

·         Maintain a positive and engaging attitude working with a friendly and close-knit café team.
