Job Description - Corporate Assurance, Assessor

Launch your impact in ESG by helping global companies tell credible, transparent sustainability stories.
If you're energized by the intersection of climate action, data integrity, and real-world business decision-making, this role gives you the opportunity to apply your technical skills while shaping the future of corporate sustainability assurance.

Why This Role Matters

As sustainability reporting rapidly evolves across Australia and the broader APAC region, organizations are being held to higher expectations for accurate, independently verified ESG and GHG disclosures. ERM Certification and Verification Services (ERM CVS) plays a key role in building that trust.

By joining our Corporate Assurance team, you will help ensure that leading companies can confidently report sustainability performance, meet regulatory requirements, and demonstrate credible progress against their commitments. Your work will directly influence how businesses communicate climate action, environmental impact, and broader ESG performance.

What Your Impact Is

As an ESG Assurance Assessor, you will:
  • Deliver assurance services to multinational clients across a variety of sectors.
  • Support Project Managers in the independent verification of GHG/ESG information, sustainability-linked financial instruments, and product-level claims.
  • Contribute to high-quality assessments that uphold ERM CVS's reputation as a trusted global verification body.
  • Build strong capability in sustainability assurance standards, environmental data methodologies, and emerging regulatory frameworks across APAC.
  • Strengthen client relationships through clear communication, reliable delivery, and a commitment to quality.

What You'll Bring
Required
  • Degree-level education in sustainability, engineering, business, auditing, or a related discipline.
  • Practical experience delivering assurance engagements (financial or non-financial), ideally within a professional services environment.
  • 3-4 years' experience and strong understanding of assurance principles, ESG/GHG data, and sustainability reporting.
  • Knowledge of key sustainability and GHG reporting frameworks (e.g., ASRS, NGER, GRI Standards, GHG Protocol, ISSB, CDP, TCFD, SDGs).
  • Familiarity with auditing/assurance standards such as ISSA 5000, ISAE 3000, ISAE 3410, ISO 14064-3, or PCAOB Attestation Standards.
  • Technical understanding of environmental impacts, emissions, climate change, and GHG.
  • Demonstrated capability in data analysis, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet client deadlines.
  • High self-motivation, reliability, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to client offices and operational sites.
Preferred
  • Experience in ESG, climate reporting, or sustainability-related client delivery.
  • Direct exposure to assurance of sustainability-linked loans, product carbon claims, or carbon market engagements.
  • Experience working with multinational clients or cross-regional project teams.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Project Managers in delivering independent assurance of GHG/ESG information, including sustainability reporting, sustainability-linked financial instruments, product claims, and carbon market requirements.
  • Execute assurance procedures under the supervision of senior colleagues, including:
    • Media and desktop research
    • Analytical review of ESG and GHG data
    • Evidence collection and evaluation
    • Site visits
    • Disclosure assessments
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation in accordance with assurance standards and internal quality systems.
  • Assist senior colleagues during head office and operational site visits, contributing to fieldwork and client discussions.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple projects to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
