Job Description - Corporate Finance Manager

The role is based in our Sydney office and will report to the Finance Controller. It will coordinate with other finance departments and be responsible for delivery of all end-to-end finance tasks.

This job description is indicative of the general role you will perform whilst at ESR, however it is not an exhaustive list of your role or responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities - including but not limited to:

  • Provide support to the Finance Controller.
  • Business partner with group finance, fund finance, property finance, FP&A, other internal or external stakeholders.
  • Manage, mentor, and review the work of a team of Senior Accountants/Accountants.
  • Coordinate month end activities and review of GL reconciliations.
  • Preparation and review of group consolidation and reporting.
  • Partner with other business units or wider team to prepare accurate reporting.
  • Review of ESR’s management fee calculations, financial results, non-financial metrics, and expense forecasts to ensure accuracy and alignment to management agreements.
  • Suggest and contribute to process improvements and key finance initiatives.
  • Management of working capital and cash requirements.
  • Review and lodgement of tax returns, BAS, tax submissions, etc.
  • Coordinate annual audits, and ensure compliance requirements are met (tax, statutory, GS007, management agreements, internal controls etc).
  • Review of tax calculations and liaise with external advisors.
  • Preparation and review of annual statutory financial statements
  • Liaise with group finance, senior management and other stakeholders on any ad-hoc requirements.
  • CA/CPA or equivalent.
  • Big 4 trained with commercial experience would be advantageous.
  • Funds / real estate experience.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to use initiative, work without supervision and assume full responsibility for completion of tasks.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proactive and willing to look for ways to improve processes and procedures.
  • Able to solve problems, be highly flexible and able to adapt in a changing and demanding environment.
  • Good communication, time management to be able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Yardi ERP accounting software would be an advantage.
