The position works closely with corporate functions and project teams to support safety outcomes across the full lifecycle of projects.

The role is primarily Brisbane‑based and requires a willingness to travel to project sites to provide short-term operational support, develop practical site exposure, and build hands-on project experience. This may include FIFO or DIDO arrangements, when required.

  • Support project start‑up by assisting with the establishment and handover of project Health & Safety systems

  • Provide advisory support to project‑based Health & Safety personnel as required

  • Participate in internal and external audits, including project audits and accreditation audits (e.g. ISO, FSC)

  • Assist with maintaining industry and corporate accreditations

  • Support incident reporting and investigations, including participation in high potential incident investigations using Tap‑Root methodology

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly Health & Safety reports, including KPI performance, emerging risks and improvement initiatives

  • Support the development, delivery, review and continuous improvement of Health & Safety training materials and programs

  • Contribute to proactive safety culture, continuous improvement initiatives and innovation programs

  • Support corporate office and logistics Health & Safety requirements, including inspections, toolbox meetings and reviews

  • Provide short‑term on‑site coverage for project Health & Safety roles when required

Experience and qualifications

  • Sound working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and best-practice WHS management systems

  • Demonstrated experience supporting the administration and maintenance of Health & Safety systems, policies and processes

Desirable

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessing

  • Experience participating in accreditation audits (ISO, FSC desirable)

  • Practical construction site experience, preferably within pipeline or infrastructure environments

Typically, this role suits candidates with around 3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, infrastructure or a corporate/project‑based environment who are keen to build further project exposure.

Skills and behaviours

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across corporate and site teams

  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement and safety innovation

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs

  • High level of professionalism, resilience and personal accountability

  • Strong planning, organisation and problem‑solving capability

Why join Spiecapag

  • Opportunity to work with an established infrastructure contractor within the VINCI Group

  • Exposure to corporate governance, audits and certification, as well as active construction projects

  • Strong safety leadership and a culture focused on practical, consistent implementation

  • Supportive team environment with opportunities for development and growth
