Job Summary:

We are seeking a Corporate Operations Lead to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Corporate Operations Lead will oversee daily operations including payroll, external corporate contract renewal and evaluation (IT, security, cleaning etc), fleet management, purchasing and manage Information Technology, Administration and Funding and Consulting projects. Applicants will need experience leading teams, knowledge in business operations a high level of communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

This role is based at the Ballarat office but will requires regular travel to our Geelong office.

About Us:

Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC) is a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic) and was established in 1998.

WTOAC is governed by a Board of Directors of Traditional Owners. Each Director represents a Family Group of the Wadawurrung People. Its role is to protect and advance the aspirations of Wadawurrung People by managing their cultural heritage rights and interests, as well as supporting them in the achievement of the goals and aspirations as outlined in the Wadawurrung Country Plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Corporate Services Team, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Provide day-to-day support and strategic advice to the COO, and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Evaluate and renew external service Contracts such as IT and Security Contracts.
  • Manage and purchase Fleet vehicles including servicing, fuel and record keeping.
  • Work with COO and Accountants and corporate staff in developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing corporate programs, functions and activities.
  • Provide advice, regular updates, support and reports to the COO and CEO, relating to Information Technology, External Corporate Contracts and Funding & Consultancy Project.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Qualification or experience in Corporate Service and the ability to lead and monitor a small team.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for change and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in managing a multitude of complex tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels and deliver on employee and member needs/requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with payroll including data entry and general administration.
  • Experience in working with an Indigenous organisation (desirable)
