Job Description - Corporate Planning & Performance Lead

We are seeking a focused Corporate Planning & Performance Lead to join our stellar team at Public Sector People in Melbourne VIC.

Public Sector People are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Planning & Performance Lead to support Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, on an initial 6 month contract. 

This role involves developing, monitoring, and reporting on key components such as the Community Vision, Council Plan, Annual Report, and Organisational Strategy. Additionally, you will support the induction of new councillors and contribute to the Council Plan's successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and oversight of Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework (IPRF).
  • Develop and manage public-facing documents: Community Vision, Council Plan, Annual Action Plans, and Annual Report.
  • Enable and support the development of annual Service, Department, and Directorate Plans aligned with Council’s Vision.
  • Review and manage the Organisational Strategy through Action Plans and Quarterly Reports.
  • Support the implementation of Council’s Service Review program and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate coaching, training, and support for staff and teams in corporate planning and reporting activities.
  • Maintain and manage a corporate reporting cycle using business systems like Pulse Software.
  • Deliver high-quality reports and submissions for the Council, executive management, and external bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards in all corporate planning activities.
Key Requirements: 
  • Experience in corporate planning within local government or public sector, including integrated planning and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and present data effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in data analysis.
  • Broad knowledge of local government legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Commitment to community engagement, upholding organisational values, and working ethically.
