Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a detail-oriented Cost & Change Lead to support major infrastructure program's in South-East Queensland. This role will be responsible for managing program budgets, cost control, and change governance across multiple workstreams.

  • Budget Management – Facilitate confirmation of program and project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives
  • Cost Control & Reporting – Gather, verify, and report on all program costs (direct and indirect), including monthly budget vs. expenditure tracking
  • Trend & Variance Analysis – Identify cost trends, analyse variances, and forecast total program costs
  • Earned Value & Systems Alignment – Establish Earned Value Management and maintain alignment with systems such as SAP and Unifier
  • Change Control Leadership – Lead the program change control function, including Go/No-Go decisions and internal change forums
  • Integrated Reporting – Maintain the change register, support PowerBI reporting, and provide monthly summaries of cost and change impacts

Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience – Minimum 10 years’ experience in project controls, ideally within the rail or infrastructure sector
  • Cost & Change Expertise – Strong knowledge of cost systems, change control processes, and financial forecasting
  • Analytical Skills – Ability to interpret cost trends, manage contingencies, and provide actionable insights
  • Systems Proficiency – Experience with SAP, Unifier, and PowerBI for integrated cost and change reporting
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Skilled in facilitating decision-making forums and advising on change procedures and approvals
  • Collaborative Approach – Ability to integrate with governance, cost, and risk functions to ensure program-wide alignment
