About the Role
Join a Strategic Partnerships team focused on reducing external legal spend and improving cost outcomes. You will review legal invoices, provide advice, and work with panel firms to ensure fair and reasonable charges. This role supports broader initiatives that improve how legal services are engaged and managed.
What You’ll Do
- Review invoices from legal panel firms and assess fairness and reasonableness to support accurate cost outcomes
- Negotiate with external firms to amend charges where required and achieve balanced commercial outcomes
- Provide legal costs advice to internal stakeholders to guide decision making and spending practices
- Support initiatives that improve legal spend processes, including pricing models and panel engagement approaches
- Liaise with external service providers to enhance data accuracy and improve reporting quality
- Contribute insights from invoice reviews to strengthen panel performance and ongoing strategy
What You’ll Bring
- Experience reviewing legal invoices and assessing costs against benchmarks to ensure fairness and consistency
- Knowledge of legal cost structures, including what is typically reasonable and aligned to market standards
- Ability to analyse detailed information and identify opportunities to improve cost outcomes
- Confidence engaging with legal firms to discuss and resolve invoice-related queries or discrepancies
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Tertiary qualifications in Law or admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in QLD or NSW is preferred
