Job Description - Customer Service Representative (Vacancy No. 196) - Dural

Founded in 1960, H&G is a building supplies company with a wide variety of products, 6 locations, and is driven to be the possible partner for all builders of the Australian dream.


 


We're on the lookout for a Customer Service Representative, preferably with experience in the building industry. This role is based at our Dural location.


 


Job Summary


 


The Customer Service Representative provides administrative support to the external sales team and directly to customers by assisting with the lodging, processing, and closing of orders, and providing knowledge and advice about our product range.



Key Responsibilities



  • Collaborates with the external sales team on customer quotes, orders, and general enquiries.

  • Asks questions to understand customer requirements and to assist in closing sales.

  • Assists in resolving routine customer service and support issues.

  • Follow-ups on the progress of orders by phone and email.

  • Answers questions about products or the company.

  • Handles/processes incoming customer enquiries via phone and email, or online.

  • Assists the sales team in following up and maintaining new customer relationships.

  • Directs prospects to the field sales team when needed.

  • Enters and updates customer information in the database and completes builder datasheets.

  • Handles customer grievances to preserve the company's reputation.

  • Goes the “extra mile” to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales.

  • Keeps records of calls and sales and notes useful information.

  • Other ad hoc Sales, Marketing, and Admin activities as directed.



Key Requirements



  • Excellent customer service skills and a pleasant and friendly phone manner.

  • Minimum of 1 year's experience working in a call centre or similar environment.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • A demonstrated capacity to learn new product knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to take ownership, follow tasks through to completion, and juggle multiple priorities at any one time.

  • Ability to work unsupervised.

  • Intermediate computer skills.

  • Experience explaining quotes and product information in a category relevant to our industry.
