Your new role
As the Data Architect, you will serve as the organisation's authoritative expert on data architecture across discovery, design, development and go-live phases. You will work closely with program leadership, engineering teams and product owners to define and govern the data architecture required to support a new enterprise platform. This role also includes guiding junior data resources and partnering with business and technical stakeholders to ensure the data landscape is strategically aligned and future-ready.
What you'll need to succeed

• Data architecture design: Define and lead the development of enterprise data architecture, including data models, integration patterns and platform data services. Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, performance, security and long-term maintainability.
• Data governance: Establish and maintain data governance standards, ensuring data assets comply with architectural principles and organisational policies. Collaborate with data owners and governance leads to maintain consistency and quality.
• Stakeholder communication: Act as the primary data architecture subject-matter expert for delivery teams and senior stakeholders. Provide clear communication on architectural trade-offs, data model decisions and technical direction. Oversee vendor architectural alignment.
• Transition & decommissioning: Architect and support data migration strategies, ensuring legacy systems transition smoothly to the new platform. Contribute to go-live planning and ensure technical readiness and compliance.
• Hypercare & run state: Design and support the establishment of long-term data maintenance and operational models, ensuring continuity, ownership and architectural integrity post go-live.
