Talent International is working in partnership with our federal government client in seeking a Data & / Technical Business Analyst.
The Role:
The Data & Analytics Branch supports the Agency by providing high quality data and reporting and translating insights into measurable business performance improvements. It focuses on delivering data and reporting while building data literacy capability across the branch and regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit and document business and technical requirements to support the strategy and goals of the Agency as they relate to Data & Analytics data product development.
- Analyse and document business process and data flows to provide current and future state context to support business and technical requirements.
- Analyse and document recommendations to stakeholders to improve business outcomes where improvements in process or solution have been identified, including facilitating relevant workshops, meetings, working groups, etc.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure appropriate stakeholders are included in the development of business and technical requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on business and technical design documents to ensure designs align with expected business outcomes, as captured by business and technical requirements.
- Input to the design and implementation of solutions that deliver to the business and technical requirements and meet the expected business and technical outcomes.
- Develop a traceability framework for team members to follow to ensure all deliverables / use cases link to an agreed business outcome / success measure via succinct and unambiguous business and technical requirements.
Key skills:
- Demonstrated expertise leading business and technical requirement development and stakeholder validation
- Demonstrated expertise documenting data and process flows to analyse and provide context to business and technical requirements
- Demonstrated experience in documenting current and target state process maps/flows.
- Able to understand and capture business requirements relating to use / application of data to business problems.
- Ability to gather, analyse and translate business data to meaningful insights.
Have experience with:
- Intermediate skills with JIRA and Confluence, Visio, Excel, Powerpoint, Word.
- Experience implementing Data Lake and/or Data Warehouse applications and accompanying data architecture (e.g. Data Models, ETL, data governance, security) and/or business transformation projects.
