Job Description - Data Center Technician / Operator
Monitor data center systems, alarms, and environmental conditions. Perform basic hardware tasks such as server installation, replacement, cabling, and rack maintenance. Support power and cooling infrastructure by following operational checklists. Respond to incidents, alerts, and service requests as per SOPs. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance. Follow security, safety, and access control procedures at all times. Maintain logs, tickets, and asset documentation. Support infrastructure moves, changes, and upgrades. Work in shifts and participate in on-call support if required. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field. 1-3 years of experience as data center technician, data center operator, or data center operations. Basic knowledge of servers, networking fundamentals, and operating systems (Windows/Linux). Understanding of data center cabling, power, and cooling concepts is an advantage. Ability to follow SOPs and troubleshooting guidelines. The Basic shift schedule is Monday to Friday with rostered On-Call support and scheduled weekend support. Good communication skills and a strong willingness to learn.
