Job description: Data Engineering Lead
with MS Fabric
Position Summary
The Data Engineering Lead is responsible
for the end-to-end ownership, governance, delivery, support, optimization, and
strategic roadmap of the organization's Digital Engineering and Data Platforms.
This role provides leadership across data integration, data warehousing,
analytics, automation, reporting, AI-enabled data platforms, and enterprise
application ecosystems.
The role will oversee a portfolio
comprising Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Informatica,
Azure Integration Services, Power BI, Power Automate, Nintex, UiPath, GitHub,
SecurePay, Message Exchange Portal, Blue Care Application, and associated
enterprise platforms. The individual will drive data modernization initiatives,
ensure operational excellence, maintain platform reliability, and lead teams
delivering data-driven business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Leadership
- Own
enterprise data platform strategy, architecture, governance, and roadmap.
- Lead
modernization of Azure Data Lake, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric
environments.
- Ensure
scalable, secure, and cost-effective data engineering solutions.
- Define
enterprise data standards, data quality frameworks, and metadata
management practices.
- Support
advanced analytics, reporting, AI, and business intelligence initiatives.
Data Integration & ETL Management
- Manage
enterprise integrations using:
- Informatica
- Azure
Integration Services
- Message
Exchange Portal
- APIs
and event-driven integrations
- Govern
ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data flows.
- Ensure
data availability, integrity, consistency, and performance across
platforms.
Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Lead
enterprise Power BI strategy and service delivery.
- Establish
BI governance and reporting standards.
- Partner
with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and executive
dashboards.
- Drive
self-service analytics adoption.
Service Delivery & Operations
- Own
service management processes aligned to ITIL standards.
- Manage
L2/L3 support teams and vendor engagements.
- Ensure
SLA, KPI, availability, and performance targets are achieved.
- Drive
incident, problem, change, and release management activities.
- Establish
operational dashboards and executive reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate
with business leaders, architects, security teams, vendors, and external
partners.
- Translate
business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Present
platform roadmaps, risks, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure
compliance with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement
data governance and access management frameworks.
- Maintain
audit readiness and risk mitigation controls.
Team Leadership
- Lead
and mentor Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Integration Specialists, BI
Developers, and Platform Engineers.
- Drive
capability development and technical excellence.
- Foster
a culture of innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
Required Experience
- 10+
years in Data Engineering, Analytics, Integration, or Enterprise
Applications.
- 5+
years leading enterprise-scale data and integration platforms.
- Experience
managing production support and application delivery teams.
- Proven
experience delivering cloud-based data modernization programs.
- Strong
stakeholder management experience across business and technology teams.
- Experience
managing multiple vendors and managed service providers.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal
communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders, end users, and
cross-functional teams.
