Job description: DATA GOVERNANCE CONSULTANT

Role
Purpose

The
Data Governance Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and
operationalizing enterprise -wide Data Governance frameworks, policies,
processes, and governance operating models. The role will work closely with
business stakeholders, data owners, data stewards, architects, and technology
teams to establish trusted, secure, compliant, and high -quality data management
practices leveraging Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC).

The
consultant will drive governance initiatives across metadata management,
business glossary, data lineage, data quality, data classification,
stewardship, and regulatory compliance while enabling business value through
improved data transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Data
Governance Strategy & Framework

• Design and implement enterprise
  Data Governance frameworks, standards, policies, and procedures.
  
• Define governance operating
  models, decision rights, governance forums, and escalation paths.
  
• Establish governance roles
  including Data Owners, Data Stewards, Custodians, and Governance Councils.
  
• Develop governance roadmaps
  aligned with organizational data strategy and compliance requirements
  

Informatica
CDGC Implementation

• Lead implementation and configuration
  of Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog.
  
• Configure business glossaries,
  metadata repositories, classifications, and governance workflows.
  
• Implement automated metadata
  harvesting and lineage capabilities.
  
• Enable integration with enterprise
  data platforms including Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks,
  and SQL -based systems
  
• Metadata & Business
  Glossary Management
  

• Establish enterprise metadata
  management practices.
  
• Develop business glossaries and
  taxonomy models
  
• Define ownership, stewardship,
  and approval workflows.
  
• Improve data discoverability
  and business understanding of critical data assets.
  

Data
Quality & Stewardship

• Define critical data elements
  and quality rules.
  
• Collaborate with business teams
  to establish data quality KPIs and monitoring processes.
  
• Support issue remediation and
  governance workflows.
  
• Drive Data Stewardship adoption
  across business units
  

Data
Lineage & Compliance

• Capture and document end -to -end
  data lineage.
  
• Implement governance processes
  for data classification and sensitive data management.
  
• Support compliance
  requirements, audit requests, and regulatory reporting initiatives.
  
• Ensure adherence to privacy,
  security, and governance standards
  

Stakeholder
Management & Consulting

• Conduct governance workshops
  and stakeholder interviews.
  
• Gather and document governance
  requirements.
  
• Facilitate governance councils
  and working groups.
  
• Present governance metrics,
  recommendations, and progress updates to leadership teams.
