Databricks Developer

{"description": "DWS are seeking a highly capable Databricks Developer to design, build and support enterprise-grade data solutions on a modern cloud data platform. This role plays a key part in delivering scalable, reliable and well-governed data pipelines and analytical products that support operational reporting, analytics and data-driven decision making.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team, collaborating closely with data architects, platform engineers, analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions are technically robust, performant and supportable.

Salary : up to $190K (inc super)

Essential skills and experience

• Very strong knowledge of Databricks and core services
• Expert-level SQL skills, including complex transformations, window functions and performance optimisation
• Strong Python and PySpark development capability with a focus on maintainable, modular code
• Understanding of Delta Lake, data versioning, incremental processing and CDC patterns
• Solid experience with data modelling for analytics and reporting use cases
• Strong grasp of data quality, lineage, governance and regulatory reporting considerations
• Australian Banking or Financial Services experience highly regarded
• Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS preferred) and enterprise data environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
