Delivery Driver/Shop Assistant

Bristol Paints is a leading Paint Specialist, servicing both the retail and trade markets in Architectural, Industrial and Specialty coatings.  We are seeking a Delivery Driver/Shop Assistant at the Strathpine store located at 8 Dixon Street, Strathpine Qld 4500, which is directly opposite Westfields Strathpine Centre.  This position is permanent full-time position for the right person.

The position is available for immediate start, and you will receive ongoing training and uniforms.  The stores operating hours are 6:30am-4:30pm Mon to Fri and 7am–12pm Sat. You will be required to work a minimum of 38 hours per week and be available for Saturdays if required.  The store is not open on Sundays and public holidays.

Responsibilities include:

• Safely delivering our products to our customers using the company vehicle (manual loading and unloading at job site).
• Picking customer and branch orders.
• Loading and unloading freight.
• Taking phone orders and in-person orders.
• Receiving and replenishment of stock.
• Booking freight.
• Assist with tinting and mixing paint.

Applicants must have: 

• A Current unrestricted driver’s license, with a safe driving history (police checks to be done).
• Good presentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to demonstrate safe handling techniques. 
• Be able to work during the business hours of 6:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and Rostered 

7am – 12pm Saturday.

• Be able to work a flexible weekday roster.
• Be able to work on Saturdays if required.
• Be comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting of stock (able to lift up to 20L/30Kg drums on a repetitive bases).

Experience/Character

• A background in retail paint sales or hardware sales would be highly valued 
• Local area delivery experience 
• Open to learn
• Flexible, punctual and reliable
• Have a high regard for customer service
• Have a good knowledge of the surrounding suburbs
