Dental Assistant/Receptionist - West Pymble Dental Surgery

West Pymble Dental Surgery is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our close-knit team. We have permanent full-time, part-time and casual opportunities available, offering flexibility to suit your availability and what you’re looking for.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is confident dealing with patients, comfortable managing reception independently and enjoys being part of a busy dental practice. You’ll also have the opportunity to be cross-trained in sterilisation and infection control, giving you a broader understanding of the practice and helping support the team when needed.

West Pymble Dental Surgery has been caring for the local community for over 40 years, with many patients now bringing in the third and fourth generation of their family for treatment. Led by Dr Maxwell Swart, our team is proud of the strong relationships we have built with our patients and the supportive environment within the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming patients and providing a friendly, professional first point of contact
• Managing the appointment book, including scheduling, confirming and following up appointments
• Answering phones and handling patient enquiries confidently
• Processing payments, billing and HICAPS claims
• Managing day-to-day reception administration
• Keeping reception organised and running smoothly
• Communicating clearly with patients, dentists and the wider practice team
• Confidently managing reception when the Practice Manager is unavailable
• Supporting sterilisation and infection control when required following structured training
• Working closely with the clinical team to help maintain an efficient practice flow

To succeed in this role, you will:

• Have previous experience in dental reception and/or assisting
• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (advantageous but not essential)
• Be confident supporting patients and working closely with the clinical team
• Bring a reliable, trustworthy and team-focused approach to your work
• Have experience with dental practice software such as D4W (advantageous but not essential)
• Have a genuine interest in providing a great patient experience
