About the role


 


 


An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated leader to join Eastern Health Pathology as the Deputy Pre-Analytical Manager.


Reporting to the Pre-Analytical Services Manager, this position provides operational leadership and support across Collections, Central Specimen Reception and Courier Services. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-focused pathology services while contributing to workforce leadership, service planning, quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.


 


 


Working closely with Team Leaders, operational managers and key stakeholders, the Deputy Pre-Analytical Manager plays an important role in supporting daily operations, workforce management, accreditation requirements, staff development and organisational change initiatives across the pre-analytical Services portfolio.


 


 


About you


 


 


To be successful in this role you will possess:


 


 



  • Demonstrated leadership experience within pathology, healthcare or a similar operational environment

  • Strong people leadership, coaching and performance management skills

  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Experience leading service improvement and change initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities within a complex healthcare environment

  • Knowledge of quality systems, accreditation requirements and risk management principles

  • Strong workforce planning, rostering and resource management skills

  • Experience analysing operational data and using information to support decision making

  • Excellent organisational, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Commitment to delivering high quality patient-centred services


 


 


Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.


Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
