Job Description - Designated Position - Claims Settlement Consultant

In this digitally focused role, you’ll manage claims, negotiate with solicitors and recovery partners, and apply strong analytical and decision‑making skills. You’ll be supported by a collaborative team and leader, with flexibility to attend the office only four times a month post‑training. This designated position values clear communication, empathy, teamwork and a commitment to growing your career.  This is a permanent full-time role based in Naarm (Melbourne), Meanjin (Brisbane) or Dharug country (Parramatta).



What You'll Do
• Manage and settle claims through digital channels, email and documentation
• Conduct professional negotiations with solicitors and recovery agents
• Apply critical thinking to assess risk and make informed decisions
• Manage third‑party recovery processes with accuracy and autonomy
• Collaborate with a supportive team and leader to achieve strong outcomes
• Maintain empathetic, professional communication with all stakeholders



About You
• A desire to grow your leadership skills and career at IAG
• Strong communication skills and professional written/email etiquette
• Critical thinking capability and confidence in negotiation
• Empathy, patience and care when working with stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to the team
• You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander


 


This role is a designated role and only available to a person that identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
