The Role: DevOps Engineer (Python Web Application Productionisation)

If you're a Mid-level or Senior professional with a proven track record, specializing in DevOps and Python Web, this is your chance to shine.

Client Overview:

Our client, a pioneer in the finance industry known for fostering innovation, is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to contribute to their global markets business. This 6-month contract offers a unique chance to collaborate with a dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge projects that impact the global landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline the deployment process of our Python Web application.
• Onboard the application to security tools to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Develop and implement comprehensive unit tests to validate the functionality and performance of the application.
• Integrate the application with Ping SSO for seamless single sign-on authentication.
• Create technical documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain system integrity.
•   Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS cloud technologies to automate the deployment process and enhance efficiency.
•   Monitor and optimise the performance, scalability, and reliability of the application in a cloud environment.

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation).
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI/CD).
• Familiarity with security tools and practices (e.g., Sonar, Blackduck, or equivalent application).
• Experience with single sign-on (SSO) solutions, preferably Ping Identity.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
