Job Description - Digital Coordinator (Social Media)

Full-time | Alexandria

The Local Project is an independent digital publisher celebrating exceptional design, architecture and interiors across Australia, New Zealand and beyond. Through our online platforms, print publications, video storytelling and social media, we connect a global audience with the best in design. We’re looking for a Digital Coordinator who is highly organised and passionate about creating and curating engaging content.

This is a hands-on execution role responsible for preparing, publishing and maintaining a large volume of social content each week. You will be coordinating our daily output across multiple channels and ensuring every post and story is visually engaging, technically accurate, aligned with platform best practices and delivered on schedule for The Local Project audience of more than four million people. This includes supporting the rollout of new social formats across Meta and other platforms, helping to introduce a new layer of lifestyle-aligned content that complements our architectural and design storytelling.

Your weeks will involve:

  • Community management across all active platforms.
  • Preparing and publishing Instagram Stories with accuracy and brand sensitivity.
  • Coordinating, preparing and scheduling timely content and upcoming social campaigns (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Pinterest).
  • Cross-check, prepare and schedule videos for The Local Project and The Commercial Project on YouTube across multiple weekly releases.
  • Social reporting and performance tracking.

This role is highly structured, deadline-driven and requires consistency and strong personal accountability. Every piece of content you deliver contributes to a premium visual ecosystem viewed globally.

About You

You thrive in a fast-paced publishing environment where order, accuracy and visual quality matter. You’re comfortable working through repetitive cycles of content while still elevating the quality of output each week. You’re used to handling high-volume schedules and understand the responsibility of publishing for a large, design-savvy audience. You enjoy refining systems, improving workflows and contributing to a clear digital rhythm each week.

You’ll bring:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in social media, digital content or publishing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong visual sensibility.
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence coordinating high-volume schedules.
  • Experience working with social media scheduling tools (Sked, Meta Business Suite or similar).
  • A genuine appreciation for architecture, photography and design.
  • The ability to work calmly and productively with tight turnarounds.
  • A proactive mindset, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow.

You’ll be part of a tight, committed team shaping how design is shared with a global audience. The content you deliver will be seen by millions and form part of The Local Project’s wider storytelling across print, digital and video.
