About the Role & Team

The Digital Solution Architect leads technology solution architecture for the Digital Customer Experience platforms, ensuring alignment with AGL principles, patterns, policies, and standards. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to create solutions that meet business requirements while considering cost, timelines, quality, risk, and strategic positioning. It aims to enhance productivity and competency through active participation in architecture ceremonies, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. Additionally, the architect aligns with AGL strategic initiatives, adheres to architectural guardrails and roadmaps, and assesses changes from IT programs for efficiency, cost optimization, and technical debt management.

The Architecture team provides thought leadership to identify opportunities to take an enterprise approach to transforming a business capability. They take a structured approach to understand business problems, identify synergies across Business Units and create a compelling case for change to invest in delivering enterprise outcomes using shared technology platforms to provide cost effective, flexible, and fit for purpose solutions.

What you’ll be doing

• Shape business cases for digital customer experience initiatives with Project Managers, Customer Insight Executives, and General Managers.

• Collaborate with Business Sponsors and Product Owners on Digital Customer Journey Maps and phased delivery roadmaps, acting as the single point of contact for architecture concerns.

• Participate in planning, high-level design, and solution alternatives, ensuring consideration of the broader architectural vision and capturing key assumptions, risks, and decisions.

• Assist Business Analysts in mapping Customer Journey Maps, prioritizing deliverables, planning dependencies, and supporting change management rollouts.

• Provide architectural oversight during delivery, supporting the incremental realization of strategic architecture through Agile processes and managing emergent architecture.

• Ensure proper application of technology guiding principles, creating supporting architectures, solutions, patterns, standards, and practices where needed.

• Shape investments and drive architectural direction, fostering re-use of application components, simplifying technology, reducing tech debt, and decommissioning legacy assets.

About You

• Expertise in solution architecture and digital solution architecture.

• Relevant experience in either Energy and/or Telco.

• Tertiary qualification in technology or technology-related subjects, or equivalent industry experience.

• Advanced understanding of integration, data, infrastructure, and security concepts, with deep knowledge of their implementation across the enterprise to drive delivery efficiencies and excellent customer outcomes.

• Proven experience working at a senior level in a matrix organization where results are driven through influence.

• Broad and hands-on experience in various architecture roles, including Business Architect, Enterprise/Domain Architect, Application Architect, Data Architect, and Security Architect across different industry sectors.
