Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Digital Video Officer - Culture Makers at Museums Victoria.

ABOUT MUSEUMS VICTORIA:

Museums Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.

The primary responsibility of the Digital Video Officer is to be an all-rounder responsible for the production of innovative, multiplatform, public facing digital outputs for the Culture Makers Program. 

Some of the key duties include: 

• Provide a range of high quality, innovative digital video production services, including creative editing, animation, sound recording and digital video camerawork to meet the requirements of the Culture Makers Project and other within MV guidelines and editorial frameworks.
• Conceptualise, create, produce and project manage complex video/multimedia productions as part of exhibitions, stand-alone interactives or larger projects with outputs spread across multiple platforms and channels.
• Mentor artists and provide high level advice and expertise to project teams; liaise and negotiate with Museum staff, contractors and suppliers on both creative and technical digital video production issues.
• Maintain an excellent working knowledge of state-of-the-art technical equipment and software, including digital cameras, non-linear editing systems and VFX animation packages in order to apply knowledge to ensure best practice digital content delivery.

The successful applicant will have:

• Hands-on technical production experience, demonstrating a high standard of field and studio production techniques, including, camera, lighting, sound recording, directing and editing skills, specifically using Adobe CC Software Suite, Blender and Davinci Resolve.
• Demonstrable experience developing and producing innovative and high-quality video from the initial brief stage through all stages of production to publication with a focus on producing large scale immersive site-specific digital experiences.
• Proven ability to work with, mentor and encourage early years digital practitioners and other artists who may be less experienced in digital production.
• Proven track record of incorporating new and emerging technologies in production workflows in order to better serve the desired production outcomes and narratives.

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a fixed term, part time (0.6 FTE) role. The salary on offer is $84,166 based of grade (pro rata) + 11% superannuation.
