The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Executive Level 2 Director Maintenance Services within Property Services.
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) plays a vital role in supporting the operations, heritage, and functionality of Australian Parliament House (APH). Within DPS, the Property Services is responsible for the stewardship, maintenance, and operational integrity of one of Australia’s most iconic and complex public buildings.
As Director, Maintenance Services, you will join a high‑performing leadership team responsible for delivering essential maintenance, landscape, logistics, and building management systems functions. You will work closely with fellow maintenance services directors and the Assistant Secretary, Property Services, to ensure a cohesive, strategic, and future‑focused approach to the management of APH.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the long‑term sustainability and operational excellence of a national institution. The role offers the chance to lead multidisciplinary teams, shape best‑practice maintenance strategies, and contribute to the preservation and functionality of a building that is central to Australia’s democratic processes.
We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking leader who can shape strategy, drive performance, and build strong relationships across a complex and high‑profile environment.
Our ideal candidate will be:
Demonstrated experience in maintenance, facilities management, asset management, or a related technical field.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a complex operational environment.
Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
Experience providing strategic advice to senior executives or equivalent stakeholders.
High‑level written and verbal communication skills.

Job Specific Requirements:
• The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
