Disability Support Worker (day and afternoon and active sleepover shifts)

About the role:

We are seeking disability support workers, who can support a male client in his 50's who is diagnosed with Schizophrenia, anxiety and an intellectual disability. Support will be in the clients home and in the community.

We have day shifts (8am to 2pm), afternoon shift (2pm to 10pm) and active night shifts available (10pm to 8am). We require commitment of at least 16 hours per week, or two shifts. 

We are looking for employees who are flexible, have a range of availability and who have a passion for supporting a range of individuals.

Experience supporting clients with mental illness preferred. 

Your duties will include

• Supporting people to achieve their individual goals in line with their NDIS Plan
• Daily living support, including attending to all personal care needs.
• Meal preparation and cooking
• Domestic duties such as vacuuming, laundry and general cleaning.
• Assistance to attend appointments
• Assistance to access the community 
• Administering medications in line with medication management plans.
• Behavioural support, including managing challenging behaviours and behaviours of concern.
• Implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s)

Mandatory Checks and Licenses

• NDIS Worker Check
• Working with Children Check
• Drivers License
• First Aid Certificate
• Evidence of Covid vaccination certificate
• Two professional references
• Right to work in Australia
• Cert IV in Disability or a relevant qualification and/or equivalent experience
