Disability Support Worker - Melbourne (Outer Eastern Suburbs)

We are looking for experienced, reliable and empathetic Support Workers who want to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.

Hearth is looking for support workers in the Outer Eastern Suburbs, such as Croydon (3136) and the surrounding area.

The role may involve:

• Assistance with community access and recreational activities
• Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
• Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
• Transportation and supporting social engagement
• Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Experience supporting people with Mental Health and Complex Behaviours

• Professional or lived experience supporting and/or caring for a person with a disability
• Experience using a Hoist, PEG Feeding, or with Epilepsy Management
• Flexible availability & a long-term commitment to Hearth

Essential criteria:

• An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centred support
• Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
• A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• The legal right to work in Australia
• Excellent communication skills
• A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities
