Disability Support Worker - Part Time

  Lifestyle Solutions are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our long standing, committed and self-managed team in the Hunter NSW area.

  The clients we work with have Severe Intellectual Disability, Autism ( some non-verbal), whom present with complex and challenging behaviors.

  To be considered for these opportunities, you will need the following ;

  As a Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring and skill development – guiding customers to explore and develop their personal interests/hobbies.
  • Coaching independent living skills such as cooking, domestic and social skills.
  • Administering medication and adherence to individual support plans.
  • Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports.
  • Providing personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding and dressing when required- standard *
  • Provide a high level of care for these clients such as manual handling, peg feeding, catheter care, pressure area care.
  • Diabetes knowledge a bonus.
  • Helping customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities.
  • Be willing to be work a variety of shifts.
  • Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers
  • Current driver’s license (mandatory requirement)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003
  • Up to date Covid Vaccinations
  • Current Medication Certification- If not we are happy to provide training through us as needed.
  • Minimum Cert 3 or 4 in Disability Services or similar.
