The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.

About the role

We are looking for an energetic, results driven Mining Engineer to join the Technical Services team. Renison is in the middle of a huge ventilation upgrade including two completely new exhaust and one new intake rise systems. It has also recently commissioned a paste fill system. The Production Engineers are responsible for all aspects of optimising the quantity and quality of ore to the processing plant, from stope notes to haulage scheduling.  

The position is a key role in an experienced and friendly team  and reports to a Senior Production Engineer. You’ll be part of a team who are focused on working together to deliver improvement. This is a role that would be suitable for those with strong existing skills in the field or those interested in learning from a very experienced team.

This position is being offered is on 8 days on 6 days off roster.

Core responsibilities

·         Assist with development of stope designs.

·         Provide input into the weekly plan

·         Produce drill plans for production holes, raise bores and service holes as required.

·         Produce Charge designs and Firing plans.

·         Provide appropriate information and assistance to operations to accurately execute engineering designs.

·         Ensure that files are stored in an accurate and orderly manner.

About you

You will have a tertiary education in Mining Engineering or equivalent. Previous experience working at an underground hard rock mine will be an advantage.

Safety is a priority for you, and you actively contribute to making your workplace safe. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, which allows you to build relationships across departments and to communicate at all levels. A working knowledge of Deswick will be well regarded.
