ABOUT US
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
Why this role matters
Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve greater independence and life opportunities? We are seeking a motivated and organised professional to join our Drive for Life team and help young people overcome barriers to obtaining their driver's licence.
The Drive for Life program supports young people experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage by providing education, mentoring, practical support and access to supervised driving opportunities. This role is central to ensuring participants receive the guidance, training and support they need to successfully obtain their learner and provisional licences.
About the role
This is a part-time (3 days a week) maternity leave cover position through to March, 2027, classified at SCHADS Award Level 3.
You will work closely with young people, volunteers, driving instructors, community organisations and government agencies to deliver a structured and supportive licensing program. You will coordinate participant and volunteer engagement, facilitate learner licence education and training, manage bookings and program administration, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
This role combines community engagement, youth support, training facilitation and administration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships while maintaining strong organisational systems. You will play a key role in helping young people achieve an important milestone that can increase access to employment, education and community participation.
