Duty Manager - Urgent Position

Rydges Gold Coast Airport is looking for a Front Office Duty Manager to join the professional and dynamic Front Office team who's responsibilities will include assisting the Front Office Manager with the management of the Front Office team.

Only 3 years old, this Gold Coast lifestyle themed hotel with 192 guest rooms, a large conferencing and events market, lobby bar, 7 day breakfast buffet, modern Italian restaurant “Runway” and an outstanding roof top bar and restaurant, “The Salty Fox”.

Not just a hotel and certainly not your traditional airport hotel. As much a leisure hotel as corporate style airport hotel, this new product to the GC will be the first and last impression of our region for many of our guests where we represent the region, hence the importance of having the right team.

An unrivalled product in the Asia Pacific where a beautiful new hotel is only a 2 minute walk West to the terminal, 5 minutes walk East to Kirra Beach, 30 minute drive South to Byron and still only 30 minutes drive North to Surfers, Broadbeach and our world famous theme parks.  

Character and attitude is just as important as hotel experience, albeit experience with Opera as our Property Management System is highly desired as is solid hotel Supervisory experience with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Handling of both incoming and internal hotel calls from both guests and residents, with responsibility for owning each guest query and coordination of hotel services to meet guest needs.
• Handling of reservations overflow and after hours calls.
• Liaison with Front Office Manager and Front Office team ensuring the efficient delivery of services to hotel guests.
• Assisting with the management of all operational departments as required.
• Use of the hotel-based computer system.
• The ability to work a 7-day roster, including nights and weekends.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Previous experience using Opera or similar PMS.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
• A friendly and outgoing personality.
• Excellent grooming and presentation standards.
• A willingness to use initiative and strong problem solving skills.
• Strong financial and analytical skills with a high level of computer literacy.
