About the Centre
Situated in Belconnen in the ACT, SDN Bluebell offers early childhood education and child care for 62 children from birth to school age per day.
Since its beginnings, SDN Bluebell has always provided an inclusive and integrated approach to education and care. The centre has undergone many changes, always maintaining and reflecting a strong connection with the families in this vibrant and diverse community.
What you'll do
- Lead the nominated room and responsible for the overall room management, including the children, program, staff safety and environment identifying and supporting staff development through individual and team assessment
- Ensuring routines are being followed and run smoothly and responsible for the direction of other staff within the group, including allocation of room duties
- Ensuring that any changes are adapted and conveyed to other members of the nominated room and the team in general
- Take a lead in the development, delivery and evaluation of a quality early learning program for children enrolled in the Centre, ensuring individual children's strengths, interests and needs are identified and their learning enhanced.
- To embrace and implement the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and ensure that the service maintains operating standards as outlined in the National Quality Standards, continually working towards achieving a high quality rating.
Who you are
- Professionals holding Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education
- NESA accredited and current
- Current Working with Children's Check (NSW)
- Knowledge of the National Quality Standards & Early Years Learning Framework
- Experience in a similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates (preferable)
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Understanding of Child Protection legislation, including an approved & current Child Protection Training qualification
