ABOUT THE ROLE
AFLNT delivers a range of education and leadership programs for youth throughout the Northern Territory. Working closely with schools and the NTG Department of Education and Training, AFLNT education programs are designed to drive positive engagement in school, improved school attendance, enhanced leadership capabilities and personal development. All education programs are leveraged from the powerful connection with AFL throughout the Northern Territory.
AFLNT Education programs combine educational, leadership, physical literacy, and social emotional wellbeing initiatives through student camps and community-based outreach activities. Youth focused programs include the core Make Your Mark program for 10–14-year-olds, pre-employment and training programs, school holiday programs and AFL themed camps to develop AFL talent and pathway opportunities.
This role is responsible for the operational management and delivery of AFLNT Education programs in Darwin and the broader community. This includes the delivery of the outreach programs throughout First Nations communities and Darwin based ‘Make Your Mark’ student camps. Developing close working relationships with schools throughout the NT, you will engage schools in the make Your Mark programs and other AFLNT education activities.
Support the operations of the student camps in Darwin through overseeing camp schedules, engaging third party service providers, ensuring student safety policies are adhered to and managing the overall operations of the camps. This is an exciting hands-on role where you can have a genuine positive influence on the youth of Northern Territory. You can shape the lives of young people through combining education, leadership, personal development, sport and AFL in a high-performance environment.
Please note this is a 12-month maximum term contract role.
