You will join the
Communication Branch,
which supports the department to achieve outcomes by providing a range of communication and engagement services while ensuring key stakeholders are at the centre of the strategic planning.
The OpportunityThis opportunity will give you the security of a 12-month labour-hire or non-ongoing contract or be engaged via s26 temporary or permanent transfer for APS employees.

TV advertisement, social media, digital apps, and resource kits, to drive behavioural change for a healthier Australia.

The Role- Manage the development of best-practice advertising campaigns within the Australian Government campaign framework
- Prepare agency briefs, ministerial briefs and campaign reporting
- Manage relationships with agencies
- Manage contracts and oversee procurement and budgets specific to the campaign
- Work closely with key stakeholders across the department and maintain productive relationships with counterparts in external agencies
- Lead and develop a small team
The Ideal PersonYou will have a tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, and media with experience operating at the EL1 or equivalent level delivering state or federal government campaigns.
You will also have the following skills/capabilities:- Demonstrated experience mentoring/managing junior staff
- High-quality communication skills, with strong writing and editing
- Proven experience developing and implementing communication plans and strategies
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to anticipate and prioritise deadlines and timeframes
- Understanding of the APS advertisement and procurement guidelines – highly desired
Salary / Rate- Engagements via s26 temporary or permanent transfer, or 12-month labour-hire or non-ongoing contract
- EL1: $116,418 - $132,777 + 15.4% super
- Flexibility to work from home up to two days per week
- Location: Canberra or Brisbane
