EL1 Project Manager

Davidson are working with a Federal Government client who is seeking an experienced Project Manager (EL1).

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in contract administration, ensuring compliance with building regulations, negotiating fees with specialized contractors, managing allocated budgets, and proficiently overseeing projects both locally and remotely. The primary focus of the role is to ensure the timely and budget-friendly progress of project delivery, safeguarding the integrity of the design, and ensuring strict adherence to security measures and regulations. The role responsibilities include though are not limited to the following.

• Liaise with the project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Manage project scope, risks and stakeholder expectations to ensure integration of project activities.
• Mange the design and documentation through the 5 project phases - Initiation/Design and Document/Delivery/Handover & Takeover/Defects Liability Period.
• Manage project variations and changes and maintain the change control process.
• Coordinate and prepare regular progress reports and communication with key stakeholders.
• Establish project administration systems, document control and record management processes.
• Prepare, manage, review and update project documentation including risk and communications plans in conjunction with project team members.
• Manage project costs through cost estimating, budgeting, monitoring and contingency management.
• Liaise with suppliers, consultants and contractors as required.
• Ensure the project schedule is maintained and regularly report progress.
• Manage the risk management process, including the development of contingency plans, reviewing residual risks and escalating risks that cannot be managed at the project level.
• Monitor overall progress, use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary.
• Coordinate handover and completion activities and documents.
• Identify and document lessons learned during the project.
• Ensure the project meets its legislative obligations, eg: Workplace Health and Safety Act, Disability Discrimination Act.
  
  

About You

• Liaise with stakeholders, developing project briefs for security upgrade projects
• Managing procurement of consultants and contractors
• Reviewing design documentation for consistency and usability, ensuring implementation of security components
• Identifying and addressing issues before commencing build components, and adjusting priorities if necessary
• Conducting site visits as needed
• Developing statements of work for external contractors and drafting contract Work Orders
• Demonstrating understanding and monitoring of associated budget
• The Project Manager will be required to have a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance
• You must be an Australian Citizen.

The Benefits

• $75 - $84 per hour + Super
• July 2024 - July 2025
• Located in Barton, ACT
