About the role

As an experienced Electrical and Electronics Engineer at UPG, you will be playing a key role in diagnosing and testing Trimble equipment and instrument, as well as providing technical support to our Service Department.

Day-to-day responsibilities 

• Continuous design improvement to electrical enclosures and communications systems for in-field monitoring and GNSS systems.
• Calculate requirements for custom power systems and all included componentry.
• Design of in-field power systems for monitoring, GNSS and communications systems.
• Ensure compliance of in-house manufactured products with industry standards and specifications.
• Supervise manufacturing and testing of in-house manufactured products.
• Diagnose and test Trimble equipment, instruments and control systems to fault find
• Adjust and repair Trimble equipment and replace worn and defective parts 
• Re-assemble, test, operate and adjust customer equipment
• Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance necessary to keep instruments operating at their peak efficiency 
• Perform shop maintenance which includes the calibration of test equipment
• Promptly update documentation and invoicing information
• Communicate regular equipment status information
• Calibration and routine maintenance of specialised equipment

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics Systems, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience in communications, electronic product design and development.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills
