Electrical Estimator

PARC Engineering are specialists in Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation projects. We provide technical services to the Australian energy and resources sector with specific experience in the Minerals and Mining, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, and Power Generation Industries.

The Role:

 As an Electrical Project Estimator, you will play a vital role in the successful execution of electrical projects.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical expertise in the preparation of estimates and tenders. This involves working closely with the Project Manager & SMEs as applicable to ensure tender submissions are accurate, of high quality and completed on time.

The Estimator will also provide technical support to existing contracts and identify and support continual improvement within the tender process. 

This is a Permanent, Monday-to-Friday role based out of our Applecross Head Office This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and growing company with exposure to heavy industrial, mining, energy and construction sectors.

Some of your key tasks will include:

• Leading and supporting bid from concept to completion.
• Ensure tender is managed in a timely manner for senior management review.
• Positively manage relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Explore creative value engineering opportunities.
• Mentor and share experience with junior team members.
• Assist in the development of the tender strategy and manage the tender deliverables.
• Identify risk and ensure all risks are recorded and accounted for within the tender.
• Ensure tender submissions meet any closure deadlines and are in the format required by the prospective client.
• Manage post-tender correspondence and respond to queries raised under the approval of the Pre-Contracts Manager.
• Support the Pre-Contracts Manager and Commercial Manager in negotiations with Clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

About You 

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience estimating within an electrical engineering environment. 
•  Strong experience in compiling detailed estimates using both Norm Estimating and First Principal estimating processes, implementing them into the Company Estimating format.
• Demonstrated ability in comprehension and interpretation of contractual documents, specifications and drawings.
• Preparing, issuing, and responding to RFI’s and clarifications, to both Clients and Subcontractors.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in contract tendering procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in pricing a wide range of renewable energy projects.
• Must have Australian working rights
