Our Queensland Chlor Alkali team located at Lytton, Brisbane is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive full-time permanent Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, who reports directly to the Electrical & Instrument Supervisor, providing skills required to complete Electrical & Instrumentation (E & I) tasks on site. Tasks will include electrical trouble shooting, repairs / preventative maintenance on production equipment, and provide electrical & instrumentation expertise as key part of Maintenance Team.

This role would ideally suit a person who has up to 5 years’ experience in a similar role in either Chemical Manufacturing, Oil &Gas or Mineral Processing.

The position:

  • Preventative & corrective maintenance on plant E & I equipment.
  • Execute E & I preventative maintenance plan.
  • Liaise with Maintenance & Engineering personnel.
  • Manage E&I contractors.
  • Order all E&I spare parts.
  • Perform reprogramming, repairs and trouble shooting on PLC Programming equipment.
  • Take part in an On-Call Roster on a as needs basis.
  • On an ongoing basis ensure that safe work practices are followed by maintenance staff and contractors.

What you will bring to the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has:

  • Holder of current Electrical License Qld.
  • Holder of UEE31211 - Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control.
  • Hazardous Area certificate would be advantageous, but not a pre-requisite.
  • High Voltage Switching would be advantageous, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCS) & SCADA Systems experience would be advantageous, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Ideally has a minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance in either Chemical Manufacturing, Oil &Gas or Mineral Processing environment.
