Electrical Maintenance Technician

The Opportunity

Our Lysaght business is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Team based in Archerfield QLD. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects.

Working the afternoon shift, (2pm to 10pm) Monday to Friday, you will join a cross functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues is a priority. This position has overtime available. 

What will you do?

With your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, in this role you will:

• respond to and resolve machine breakdowns with a sense of urgency
• coordinate and complete shutdowns for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
• continually seek opportunities to improve our maintenance strategies
• provide provisional out-of-hours support to the production team as per a shared roster
• fault-find on electrical equipment including PLC’s, drives and instrumentation systems
• assess and follow up of equipment issues impacting plant performance
• perform equipment inspections, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings

You will have: 

• electrical trade qualifications
• current Electrical License
• experience working with PLC’s
• experience in fault finding and problem solving
• initiative in carrying out equipment repairs
• a strong commitment to safety
