At TasNetworks, we’re powering Tasmania today and shaping the energy future for tomorrow - and we’re looking for an Electrical Technician who’s ready to grow into a Lineworker role.

This is a great opportunity to build your capability while working hands-on across LV and HV assets. You’ll contribute to the construction and maintenance of critical network infrastructure, all while learning from experienced crews in a supportive, safety-first environment.

As an Electrical Technician, you’ll play an important role in delivering safe, reliable and efficient outcomes for our customers and communities. Every day, you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in doing meaningful work that keeps Tasmania connected.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver safe, efficient and high-quality electrical work that meets customer expectations and project timeframes.

  • Repair, maintain and construct the distribution network

  • Operate across the HV and LV network within your qualifications.

  • Install LV services, support metering work, and complete general maintenance on tools, equipment and vehicles.

  • Follow all TasNetworks safety processes and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.

Alongside the day to day tasks of an Electrical Technician, you’ll have the opportunity to undertake training at our own RTO, and transition towards a Lineworker qualification.

If you're an Electrical Technician looking for growth, challenge and a pathway into Linework, we’d love to hear from you.

About you

This is a great role for someone who enjoys practical field work, problem solving, and working as part of a tight-knit operational team. You’ll help keep Tasmania’s network running safely and reliably while developing the capability to move into a Lineworker role in the future.

You are safety-focused, technically capable and keen to expand your skills. You enjoy hands-on work, take pride in doing things right, and feel comfortable working in the field and responding to changing priorities.

You’ll bring:

  • Tasmanian Electrical Practitioner Licence.

  • Cert III Electrotechnology Electrician.

  • HRW licences (DG, WP, CV) and MR/HR licence – desirable.

  • A focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems.

  • Motivation to grow, learn and step into new challenges.

What's on offer

This is a Permanent full time opportunity based out of our Huonville depot, offering an attractive remuneration and benefits package.

At TasNetworks we want to power a bright future for our people, our community and our customers. We offer a supportive work environment where safety is at the heart of everything we do.

  • Career development - we have our own RTO and can create personalised career pathways in both trade and leadership
