Project Scope

Health Infrastructure is redeveloping the John Hunter Health Campus to deliver enhanced facilities and provide additional capacity to meet the demands of the Greater Newcastle, Hunter New England and northern NSW regions.

The ASB (Acute Services Building) is a new building that sits adjacent to the existing John Hunter Hospital, configured of:

• an 8-story ASB, with roughly 65,000m2 of GFA & 90,000m2 of GBA
• A Semi basement car park under the ASB, 4 storeys with roughly 45,000m2 GFA/GBA
• A new podium retail pavilion to an external terrace of the ASB with roughly 600m2 of GFA
• Multiple link bridges from the new ASB to the existing hospital
• 2 off Heli Pads on the roof

The refurbishment works of the existing hospital comprise the following:

• Roughly 11,000m2, the primary scope within this for new Inpatient Units
• Refurbishment of the existing main entry/drop off

Your Opportunity:

The Licenced Electrician will be responsible for a wide range of electrical works within the hospital

• Conduct installations for electrical and data communications in a quality manner
• Conduct fault finding of electrical and data communications when required
• Conduct scheduled as well as reactive maintenance and repairs
• Liaise directly with clients and explain what activities have occurred
• Complete tasks and paperwork in a timely manner
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times

About You:

We are looking for candidates that showcase, Passion, Creativity, Collaboration and Trust and should also possess:

• A valid Electrical License and trade qualifications (Mandatory).
• Registered Communications and Data Cabler with endorsements (Preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills concerning technical fault finding
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills with an ability to build relationships
• Experience working in a commercial environment and complying with safety standards
