Raytheon Australia is seeking an experienced Electronic Warfare Operator (EWO) to join our Special Mission Aircraft capability and support advanced Electronic Warfare training, test, evaluation and certification activities for the Australian Defence Force.

Operating as part of an integrated aircrew aboard Raytheon Australia's Special Mission Aircraft fleet, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning, execution and debrief of complex Electronic Warfare missions in support of Air, Maritime and Joint Force training outcomes.

This role is ideally suited to candidates with substantial operational experience in tactical air warfare, airborne mission systems, air battle management or fighter control environments. The position offers the opportunity to apply operational expertise to the delivery of advanced Electronic Warfare effects, operational test activities and high-end training support for ADF exercises and capability development programs.

Working closely with military and industry stakeholders, the EWO will support domestic and international deployments while contributing to the continual development of tactics, techniques and procedures that underpin mission success.

Location and Travel

This role is based within Raytheon Australia's Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services program in Nowra, NSW, however FIFO arrangements may be supported for suitably qualified personnel residing in Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane or other major population centres.

A generous relocation package may also be available for candidates seeking to permanently relocate.

Regular domestic travel and deployment will be required to support exercises, trials, test activities and customer requirements across Australia and occasionally overseas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an operational aircrew member aboard Raytheon Australia's Special Mission Aircraft.
  • Conduct mission planning, briefing, execution and debrief activities for Electronic Warfare and operational test missions.
  • Operate and manage airborne Electronic Warfare, communications and command-and-control systems.
  • Perform Mission Commander duties as required during training, test and certification activities.
  • Support the development and refinement of Electronic Warfare tactics, techniques and procedures.
  • Deliver instruction, mentoring and mission support to ADF and industry stakeholders.
  • Participate in domestic and international deployments supporting exercises, trials and operational capability development activities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of aviation safety, mission assurance and professional conduct.
  • Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Current AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CASA Class 2 Aviation Medical Certificate and Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in military aviation, air warfare, fighter control, air battle management or maritime air warfare operations.
  • Demonstrated experience operating within complex, time-critical tactical environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication and mission planning skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a multi-crew aviation environment.

Highly Desirable

  • Operational experience as:
  • Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO)
  • Weapon Systems Officer (WSO)
  • Air Battle Manager (ABM)
  • Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Mission Crew
  • Fighter Controller
  • Principal Warfare Officer (Air Warfare)
  • Air Intercept Controller
  • Experience supporting or conducting 5th Generation air operations and associated tactics, techniques and procedures.
  • Qualified military instructor, evaluator or mission trainer experience.
  • Operational experience in joint and coalition environments.
  • Previous airborne mission crew experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Aviation, Defence Studies or a related discipline is highly regarded.
