Electronics Technician
Location: Adelaide

Position Description:
We are seeking a versatile and highly motivated Hardware / Electronics Technician to join our dynamic production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for goods inventory and logistics, assembling, testing, inspection, and documentation related to electromechanical assemblies. Additionally, there is an opportunity to support rapid prototyping and fault diagnosis of electronic assemblies for various development projects. This role requires a high level of initiative, self-management, and a disciplined approach to process development and improvement.
Responsibilities:
Hardware Support
  • Evaluate and procure appropriate hardware components.
  • Assist with the setup and optimization of laboratory spaces.
  • Perform bench testing of various systems and sub-systems, including fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the review and development of documentation, process, and procedural requirements.
Product Development
  • Work with project teams to support the design, development, and testing activities related to product development.
  • Assist with the manufacturing and testing of prototypes and products.
  • Maintain product development artifacts such as bills of materials (BOM), circuit diagrams, and technical design documents.
  • Assist with the review of product documentation.
Other Duties
  • Support and installation of equipment, requiring infrequent travel (up to 2 weeks per installation) to remote defence sites around Australia and other localized off-site support activities.
Desired Certifications:
  • Certificate III in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 or higher
  • IPC-A-610 Class 2 or higher
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) awareness

Experience Requirements
  • At least 3 years of qualified experience working within an established team, focusing on electromechanical assemblies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interpreting and understanding technical documentation (Work Instructions, Wire Diagrams, General Assembly, Datasheets, Engineering Change Notes, etc.).
  • Experience using specialized hand tools and various laboratory test equipment.
  • Completed a technical apprenticeship (desirable).
  • Knowledge of the defence and/or space sector is a plus.
Citizenship Requirements
  • Must be an Australian citizen, able to obtain NV1 security clearance.
