Engineering Stores Person - Leading Hand

A1Anco Engineering is an Australian owned and operated, manufacturing company, supplying a diverse range of products and services to the Australian market for over 50 years. We are seeking an energetic and proactive individual to join our team.

The Stores - Leading Hand is a hands-on team leader role. This position requires someone who can roll their sleeves up and lead by example, directing a small team in performing various functions including receiving and dispatch, cutting raw material, and packing and delivering custom manufactured metal products. 

The successful candidate will report to the Production Planner and must demonstrate the skills, qualifications, and experience to undertake the following:

• Comfortable receiving, dispatching and raising purchase orders through a computerised system. 
• Ability to accurately undertake quality inspection, including reading manufacturing drawings and precision dimension checking. 
• Preparation and packing of finished goods ready for delivery.
• Strong forklift driving skills in tight spaces including loading and unloading vehicles. 
• An understanding of the Chain of Responsibility laws around the transport of goods.
• Organisation, communication, and leadership qualities to effectively direct, monitor and supervise up to three employees.
• Previous experience in undertaking saw operation (or similar) in a precision metals production environment would be an advantage.
• Drive improvements and maintain standards in areas of safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Work within a Quality Certified and WH&S regulated framework.
• Identify training and performance management requirements of employees and take steps to address any issues promptly.
