Envinronmental, Health & Safety Specialist

We’re currently looking for an Environment, Health & Safety Specialist in Preston, Victoria.

What you’ll be doing

Lead continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices, ensure compliance with regulations, provide expert guidance to staff, and foster a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Indicative tasks include (but not limited to)

• Coordinating systems and procedures in accordance with ISO45001 and safety requirements of other certificates required at Preston site.
• Provide advice and counsel to Managers, facilitators and employees regarding safety management systems.
• Support Managers and relevant stakeholders in facilitating a return-to-work program for injured workers.
• Responsible for day-to-day safety on the site.
• Promote health, safety, and compliance by following safe work practices, protecting confidentiality and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
• Inform, maintain and complete all requirements regarding Workcover claims and WorkSafe matters.
• Investigate safety-related matters with a view to identifying areas of improvement.
• Lead or assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions.
• Assist WorkSafe and the company’s Work Cover insurers with any investigations relating to accidents, incidents and unsafe working conditions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations and company policies.
• Lead or support environmental audits, inspections and improvement initiatives.
