About the Role
The Environmental Lead reports to the SHEQ Manager for our Eastern Operations and is integral to ensuring we meet the Tronox’s environmental commitments as well as ensuring compliance to our environmental and rehabilitation obligations. This role is a drive-in / drive-out (DIDO) role that will support all of our eastern operations sites including Atlas Mine, Ginkgo Mine, Broken Hill Mineral Separation Plant and Ivanhoe Rail Siding.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Ensure compliance to all management plans, consent conditions and state and federal environmental regulations.
• Lead a team of environmental professionals.
• Monitors and reports on environmental performance and implements or supports improvement actions.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site stakeholders and supervisors in scheduling, conduct and execution of mining activities according to approved Plans.
• Ensure the rehabilitation and environmental obligations are understood by key stakeholders within the business unit.
• Maintain strong relations with all applicable regulatory authorities.
• Ensure the sites meet their current and future cultural heritage requirements
• Maintain, review and draft environmental reports and plans.
• Ensure all applicable regulatory plans and reports are completed and submitted to the relevant parties in a timely manner.
• Lead and support applicable mine approval and mine closure activities.
About You
To be successful in your application you will ideally need to possess:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
• 3+ Years’ experience in an environmental leadership role or equivalent.
• >5 years’ experience in mining or equivalent industry
• Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, internal and external customers
• Highly organised and ability to work with competing priorities.
Camp accommodation and meals are provided for whilst on site. This role will be on a drive in / drive out basis from the Mildura area.
